World Satellite Business Week sees second cohort of winners at the 2021 annual awards for excellence in satellite business

The second batch of recipients for this year’s edition of Euroconsult’s prestigious Awards for Excellence in Satellite Business have been revealed during World Satellite Business Week. The global business summit welcomes over 180 top-executive speakers from almost 40 countries to share their experience and perspectives of the industry over four days at the Westin in the heart of Paris.

Paris, Washington D.C., Montreal, Yokohama, Sydney, Toulouse, Wednesday 15th December, 2021. Euroconsult, the leading consulting firm specialising in the space sector and satellite markets, continues to unveil the honored recipients of its 2021 Annual Awards for Excellence in Satellite Business, as anticipation builds for the final reveal. The firm is currently holding its flagship executive-level summit, the 2021 World Satellite Business Week held at the Westin Hotel in Paris, which provides an exceptional platform for business leaders to gain market insights, network, conduct business and conclude major deals.

The awards are presented to space companies that have distinguished themselves during the year and look to celebrate outstanding achievements of their business, management and contribution to the sector. The jury is composed of a diverse panel of experts gathered from different corners of the industry to give a comprehensive and rigorous assessment of candidates from another year of highs for the market, despite the challenges of COVID-19.

On Wednesday, the latest categories to were unveiled:

  • The Satellite Information Business Award was won by San Francisco headquartered Planet Labs, a leading provider of Earth observation insights.
  • The Pioneer Space Business Award went to German laser communications company Mynaric, a firm that last month performed an initial public offering of shares on the Nasdaq exchange, raising up to $76 million to fund its growth.
  • The Newcomer Information Business Award went to Capella Space, the first U.S. company to launch and operate Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites.
  • The Sustainable Development & Business Award was given to CLS & BKMG (Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics) for their agreement to deploy a marine meteorology system in Indonesia. CLShas been a global provider of monitoring and surveillance solutions for the Earth since 1986.
